I SERVE GOD, NOT TO BE BLESSED, BUT BECAUSE I AM BLESSED.

God has blessed me abundantly, there is no doubt about that. The Bible teaches us that believers are credited with the righteousness of Jesus Christ through His finished work on the cross. When we come to faith in Christ, the Great Exchange takes place (2 Corinthians 5:21): we give Him our sins, and in return, He gives us His righteousness. There is no greater exchange in the universe. Because of this, I stand before God, clothed in the righteousness of Christ, not by my merit, but by His grace.

God has also blessed me with a range of artistic talents that have allowed me to make a living doing what I love. I am deeply humbled by these gifts, knowing full well that they are not earned, rather they are God-given. Much like my salvation, these talents are a gift of grace. For this, I am forever grateful. Now, my mission is to pour these gifts into this ministry, so that viewers and listeners can receive God's Word through it, and that God may receive all the glory.

In the Gospel of Luke, it says, "To whom much is given, much will be required" (Luke 12:48). For those who have been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. I can’t help but think that this is the passage Peter Parker's Uncle Ben (from Spiderman) had in mind when he said, "With great power comes great responsibility." As Christians, God has blessed each of us with unique talents, and He expects us to use them for His glory. You don’t have to look further than the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) to understand this truth. Interestingly, the currency in that parable is called "talents." With this in mind, let me share how Tenacious Truth® came to be...

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Luke: 12:48

The Origin

THE MINISTRY WAS NOT MY IDEA

While I may have come up with the name Tenacious Truth® and developed all that you see and hear within this ministry, it was never my intention to do so. I wish I could tell you that I had it all planned out from the start, but that just wouldn’t be true. I can’t take credit for it. It was always part of God’s plan for me (Jeremiah 29:11). Let me explain...

Like many others in my generation, I was simply focused on providing for my family and managing my business. The thought of taking on something new wasn’t even on my radar. Sure, I always wanted to serve God using my talents, and I made a few attempts earlier in my life, but honestly, I failed miserably. I reached a point where I took it personally. I was offended that God wasn’t letting me serve Him in the ways I had envisioned. But now, with hindsight, I see that God wasn’t saying “no.” He was saying “not yet.” The truth is, I wasn’t spiritually mature enough to carry out the plan He had for me. I was like a 12-year-old asking my dad for the car keys.

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'.

THE TURNING POINT

On January 1, 2020, my family gathered at my parents' house to celebrate New Year’s Day. But what was meant to be a joyful occasion quickly turned into a crisis. My dad began experiencing shortness of breath, so we had to call the paramedics. Before I knew it, he was being rushed to the hospital and placed in the ICU. My dad remained in ICU for a staggering eight months, and I spent every moment I could by his side. Then, on September 1st (exactly eight months later to the day), The Lord called him home.

During those months, God used my time with my dad to propel me into a new season of life, one I had never planned for (Romans 8:28). It’s a journey I can’t fully capture in this short bio, as it would take pages to tell the whole story, but I hope to share it with you one day because I believe it’s a testimony worth hearing. The key takeaway, however, is that God made it abundantly clear that He was calling me into service (Hebrews 13:20-21). Whether I was ready or not, His answer of “not yet” had turned into a resounding “NOW!”
